From luxury door knobs to high-quality lever handles, we created custom-made ironmongery for Claridge’s, the five-star London hotel.
The epitome of glamorous design and sophisticated comfort, Claridge’s was opened in 1856 and has, ever since, been the favoured destination of movie stars, royalty and global dignitaries. Its original Art Deco features combine with modern styles from some of the world’s leading designers.
For the past eight years we have worked with the hotel’s management, their architects and the main building contractor to supply bespoke hardware for the renovation of this one-of-a-kind landmark.
Henry Blake Hardware: when only the best will do
Carefully replicating or complementing the very special features of this iconic hotel was vital, and we pulled out all the stops, manufacturing to original samples to ensure the closest possible match. Collaborating closely with our clients, we designed and made numerous bespoke items for the ballroom and guest bedrooms.
Custom pull handles for the newly restored ballroom
Claridge’s renowned Art Deco ballroom, which was designed and constructed in 1929, has dazzled at innumerable society weddings, state banquets and magnificent soirées. When Blair Associates Architecture was tasked with overseeing the ballroom’s refurbishment, they commissioned leading artists, artisans and craftspeople – including Henry Blake Hardware – to recreate the room’s original designs.
We used the latest manufacturing techniques to produce long pull handles for the ballroom’s glazed entrance doors. We cut each handle, together with matching kick plates and push plates, from solid brass, and then plated each piece in highly polished chrome for a handsome Art Deco feel.
Door knobs and lever handles for the guest bedrooms
For the elegant guest bedrooms at Claridge’s we manufactured Art Deco-inspired centre door knobs, and for some of the guest suites we made custom-length lever handles. We ensured consistency of finishes and optimum performance throughout.

Whatever your needs, if we don’t already have it, we can make it for you. Every project is different, but each one begins with an initial discussion, covering the purpose and location of the desired items, the options for finishes, any mechanical and legislative issues, and budget. We may also conduct a site visit. Then we get down to specifics, and produce drawings and 3D prototypes. When everything is approved, we will manufacture the custom hardware and deliver it to an agreed schedule.
