Yorkshire’s premier interior design company, Richard Grafton Interiors specialises in luxury interiors for both residential and business customers, offering design services that range from refreshing a single room to a whole-house renovation. Its team of talented designers, spatial planners and artisans are highly experienced in bespoke solutions, including hand-made kitchens, bathrooms and cabinetry, all of which are made locally in North Yorkshire.
In July 2024, the company’s flagship showroom, set over three floors in Harrogate’s prestigious Montpellier Quarter, was re-opened after a £250,000 facelift. The transformation of the 1,000 square-foot showroom – with an updated, contemporary look to reflect changing trends – puts a new luxury kitchen room set, complete with pantry and larder, at its heart. The revamped showroom also features a ‘snug’, bedroom, dressing room and formal sitting room, all showcasing Richard Grafton Interiors’ unique blend of hand-crafted cabinetry, designer furniture and interiors accessories.
We are delighted that Richard Grafton Interiors chose us to supply the furniture handles for its new showroom. We first met with them at Chelsea Harbour Design Centre and discussed a brand partnership. As Charlotte Grafton says:
‘We felt our visions aligned well, and it was an added benefit that Henry Blake Hardware is a British brand.’
The team decided on our Bauhaus pull and bar door handles and Wright round cabinet knobs, all in a medium bronze lacquered finish, and we also finished shelf brackets to match. Charlotte adds: ‘We selected handles that best complemented the design of our kitchen, placing a strong emphasis on finishes and overall harmony. The finish works beautifully with the stained woodgrain on the island, as well as the colour palette used for the pantry, larder and main kitchen run. The finish also ties in seamlessly with other key fittings in the space, helping to create a cohesive and well-considered look throughout the showroom display.’
The Richard Grafton team is delighted with the results. ‘As with all our projects, we are very detail oriented,’ says Charlotte. ‘We often say that the handles and hardware are the “jewellery” of the design – tying everything together. We wanted to showcase our capabilities in bespoke cabinetry, but also partner with brands who are like-minded and elevate our designs. We feel the selection from Henry Blake Hardware has done just this.’
